After Self Development

After Self Development

Hi  Guys,

We made it to the second installment of the Blog. If you’re a new subscriber welcome!

Check out the first one for a bit of background.

But in a nutshell… just to get you up to speed… you’re looking at a fresh approach to Self Development. No BS, just honest direct interventions that will help you navigate through the map you have used to live your life. I call it After Self Development.

Or to use a catchier title: The Higher Way Code.

If you are not sure where your life is heading or you have doubts and limiting beliefs then The Higher Way Code is here to show you the signs. Which is a No Entry, are you going down a one-way street or is the Motorway a better and faster route?

I’m sure we can find our way. Keeping open minds and an Attitude of Curiosity is always a boon.

You don’t always have to sit in the same vehicle either. Sometime when the terrain is tough, you will use a more sturdy vehicle. A 4 X 4, maybe. If the road is clear, and you want to take your time a bicycle would be great.

The vehicles I use change constantly and are represented by the skills I have developed over the past 50 years and are available both here in this blog and on our website.

These are my vehicles.

  • Martial Arts
  • NLP
  • Philosophy
  • Meditation
  • Drama
  • Communication
  • Language
  • Psychology
  • Science
  • Writing

Make your self a list.

What we have then is an eclectic blend of Martial Arts, Philosophy, Drama, Language, meditation and so much more and often this blog will be fueled by your comments and questions.

Some of you may have checked into our YouTube channel or maybe you are one of my Patrons,  or you have traveled here from Facebook.

Whatever route you have taken, it’s great to have you on board.I often use the analogy of the bus journey and who is it that is driving your bus. I see so many clients and students who are being taken for a ride… metaphorically and literally, either by their emotions or by others and their ideas about how you should live your life.

If this sounds like you, then welcome to the world and welcome to The Higher Way Code!

Alfred Korzibski (Science and Sanity) coined the phrase “The Map Is Not The Territory”.

We all have Maps of the World (the territory) by which we navigate. Many of us own maps that are limiting us and provide little detail. This means we have fewer options than those who use detailed maps.

Many have a great map from which to work, but are not sure about the direction that they need to head off in. They don’t feel like they need a compass or, if they use a compass, they have little or no knowledge about how to use it effectively.

In today’s blog, I want you to think about the direction you would like to take and think about an aspect of life we give little thought to.

YOUR PURPOSE.

What is your purpose?

Have you ever thought about your purpose in life?

You may have set goals both short and long term and whilst these are useful to help you achieve your aims what is it that drives you?
Are you in the driving seat or are you heading off into the world with someone else’s map?
Someone else’s idea of who you are and how you should live your life?

Take some time to think about where you are at the moment.

Stop and take stock of your life up to now.

Stand still and look at the terrain. Is this the environment you need to be in or do you need to move further afield?

The environment and the people in it have a huge effect on our behaviors, our skills and capabilities which form the building blocks of our Beliefs and Identity.

If you have been taking a back seat for a while maybe it’s time to stop the bus, get into the driving seat and take stock… before you make your next move.

In the next blog post I will talk about how we can adjust our map and find that elusive compass…Till then…
